Provenance: The collection of artist, and poster designer, John Stockle.
From 1950-1980s, John Stockle worked in Wardour Street, London, with poster artist Brian Bysouth, and joined commercial artist, Eric Pulford, at Downton Pulfords premier film advertising agency whose portfolio of clients included, Rank, British Lion, Universal, United Artists, RKO, Look-In magazine, and numerous other publications. Eric Pulfords innovation was to bring young talented artists to London, including Arnoldo Putzo and Renato Fratini.
When the time came for Arnoldo Putzu to return to Italy, he gifted several of his artworks to his friend John Stockle.

Mr. Selfridge (TV Series, 2013-2016) - Original Shooting Script, ITV Studios Ltd., Episode 2, written by Andrew Davies, dated 12.04.12, forty-nine typescript pages on white sheets, ink ownership name to top left corner of front page, 4to, 30 x 21cm.
The British period drama series starred Jeremy Piven, Samuel West, Frances OConner, and Katherine Kelly, and followed the life of Harry Gordon Selfridge and his London department store, Selfridge & Co, from 1908 to 1928.
Provenance: Bruce Gallup, credited on the series, Head of Department Painter (10 episodes, 2013) also worked on many films including, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Cruella, Paddington, Paddington 2, Bridget Joness Baby, The Iron Lady, and many others.
Condition Report: some curling to corners of pages from use on the production, otherwise the pages are clean and crisp, overall good condition.

High Bright Sun (1964). A collection of seven photographs from the set of the British action film. Taken on set of the Movie High Bright Sun in 1964 at RAF Northolt by the Station Photographer. Includes photos of Dirk Bogarde, Susan Strasberg, George Chakiris and on set and action photographs.
Provenance: Daphne Walker (nee Wincomb) was stationed at RAF Northolt during the filming of the movie. The vendor has provided a letter of provenance, a copy of which is sold with this lot. This reads as follows:
'I joined the WRAF in September 1961 aged 17. I was stationed at RAF Northolt in 1964 and a film crew arrived to film some scenes for a film titled "The High Bright Sun". They placed palm trees and a façade of a building to represent the arrivals lounge at Athinai Airport. I was able to watch some of the filming and get some photos of the stars.

The Vapors Turning Japanese banner.
Back in 1980 Guildford based artist Andrew McInnes (aka ANDI) designed the cover art for this hit single for his fellow Guildfordian friends in the well known New Wave band The Vapors.
On the 15th May 2024 The Vapors reunited for a night at The Keep pub in Guildford. For the occasion, Andy recreated his cover art for a huge banner measuring 260cm x 180cm, painted on a cotton sheet using acrylic paint. It took him six days to complete.
Original Band members David Fenton, Ed Bazalgette, Steve Smith, Howard Smith plus current members Dan Fenton and Michael Bowes all signed the banner as well as artist Andrew McInnes and now it is up for sale to benefit charity.
